The MEN of The Champion Center and myself started Every Man’s Battle on Sunday at 9:30am. Due to over 25 sign ups we started our first groups in the GYM – and we had 28 men show up and took a stand for purity. I opened up with a purity message and really justified the book that we were about to spend 8 weeks in, then we broke up into Acountabiltiy Groups – remember accountabilty means taking an ACCOUNT for your ABILITY to SIN. Sin will find you, porn will find you – its what you do with it.

I am very proud to be apart of a church that is raising up MEN that is after the heart of God through purity and accountability. If you haven’t signed up, just show up Sunday at 3900 E. Bonanza in Las Vegas.

This was the title to my message last night as I used the story of Martha and Mary and the death of their brother Lazarus. When Jesus came to Bethany, were they were, Martha (not Mary – the one who sat at the feet of Jesus as Martha worked in Luke) came to Jesus, matter of fact, Martha went HALF way to meet Jesus to get an ANSWER. BUT Mary stayed in the house.

When Jesus arrived at Bethany, he was told that Lazarus had already been in his grave for four days…When Martha got word that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him. But Mary stayed in the house

This was the structure of my message last night, are you staying in the house? Are you in your comfort zone? Have you lost patience (It’s been 4 days since Lazarus died and they haven’t heard from Jesus after sending word) and now doubting God? The LAST thing you should do is STAY at home! During a TRIAL, or a IRRITATION, or a problem, you need to RUN to Jesus! Martha RAN to Jesus and said “If you were only here – but I trust you”

Here is what I love, Jesus saw the people and got ANGRY! (Never saw that before) and in his anger he wept. (I believe he loved Lazarus, yes, but I also believe that Jesus took on their burden for he was deeply moved but also was angry at their unbelief – read story of disciples not casting a demon out of a boy) My Jesus is not a WUSS, my Jesus straight up walked up to the tomb and said “Roll the stone away – what’s up!”

In your most deepest trial, in the midst of waiting for a miracle, holding onto your own strengths – Christ will resurrect you.

After last Tuesday, all I can say is WOW! JESUS DID HIS THING! I am so proud of our team of leaders, students, and interns! We had over 300 student come out for SUPERCR3W from America’s Best Dance Crew, but Jesus kept them! We had performances by Nathan Jones, Stephanie Hazel and United Worship was amazing! Students were literally praising God! (you can hear it on the podcast) BUT the best news is we had 59 first time guests and 69 first time salvation’s! WOW. We have not arrived, but are excited for what GOD is going to do in 2010!

What a POWERFUL night! Feel free to listen to the podcast to hear what was preached, but the most important thing we left with is purity through the Holy Spirit. We gave out a challenge to purity and took their word for it. Here is what we gave out.

Colossians 2:20 You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as,  21 “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? 22 Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them.  23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires.

I preached a fun message last week regarding the Fruits of the Spirit and Galatians 6. It was actually the second time I didn’t preach with notes but allowed God and the scripture to move me. It was a little different but I am constantly challenging myself to prepare the messenger and not the message.

This sermon is about being gentle and humble when you lead someone to Christ and if you are someone that is NOT growing in the things of God, then get out. Either you grow or GO! Listen to this message below!
